The human spirit never ceases to amaze me. When people are pushed to their limits and given even more then they think they can handle they often come out the other side doing something amazing.
Today I read via KORA Organics Blog by Miranda Kerr a wonderful idea by a beautiful Mum called Erin. Erin is the Mum of 5 boys and 2 of those named Came and Zane are Angels who left this earth too soon but defiantly made a huge impact on their family and friends and now seems on many other people too. Erin wanted to honour her boys and came up with a Gorgeous idea to make and donate Gift Boxes made and dedicated in honour of the angel babies. These gift boxes are donated to other Mums of angels and are filled with many items that Erin felt she needed while she experienced her own loss of Cam and Zane.
I am touched by this story not only because I am human but because my daughter Airlie Fae was born at 27weeks gestation.I had every chance of being Erin and as a survivor of neonatal intensive care I am thankful that my Airlie Fae is here with us, but it breaks my heart that many Mummies are missing a little piece of their hearts as their angel babies aren't here with them. I know too many families in this situation and I think all of them would stand and clap for Erin and the fantastic Mum's who are doing this.
Why did I write this post? well because you just never know who is reading your blog. You may have been touched by the loss of a child through neonatal or stillbirth and I just wanted to reach and tell you about this wonderful cause.
REMEMBER
Go ahead and mention my child,
The one that died, you know.
Don't worry about hurting me further.
The depth of my pain doesn't show.
Don't worry about making me cry.
I'm already crying inside.
Help me to heal by releasing
The tears that I try to hide.
I'm hurt when you just keep silent,
pretending she didn't exist.
I'd rather you mention my child,
knowing that she has been missed.
You asked me how am I doing?
I say "pretty good" or "fine"
But healing is something ongoing,
I feel it will take a lifetime.
